"For me, the convent, after being restored, marked the beginning of cultural development here in Lagoa, because until then there was nothing. They started holding exhibitions, small theater and music performances: down here there were serenades, the Coimbra songs were beautiful, and small buffets were organized.
I think it is a historical monument; it is the emblem of the city of Lagoa. Because of its age, because it played many important roles in education and culture, and also in the history of Lagoa."
