Within the scope of the CONVENTUS Project, the 2nd Collaborative Workshop took place on January 30th at the Carlos do Carmo Auditorium in Lagoa.
Held as part of the CONVENTUS project, this series of Workshops aims to collectively and locally map: i) the socio-cultural reality of the Convent of São José over time; ii) its potential identity, cultural, and heritage values; iii) its role, functions, and mission in the near future, envisioned through multiple voices from the community and the Lagoa City Council team.
In this second Workshop, we challenged the local community to map the diverse socio-cultural functions that the Convent has assumed over the past decades through two Collaborative Design exercises, carried out in groups using different Design Thinking tools.
The first exercise allowed us to understand which socio-cultural functions have been most relevant for the Convent building up to the present day (Mapping 1: "Linking the Past to the Future at the Convent of São José").

The second exercise aimed to collectively systematize this reality to identify the underlying layers of values that could form the basis of its new mission moving forward, focusing on those values and functions that are most important to the community (Mapping 2: "The Sunflower of Life: Vital Lines of the Convent of São José for the Future").

With a total of 25 participants representing different generations, professions, experiences, and local perspectives on the building, the Workshop developed collective dynamics that encouraged the strengthening of a networked sense among those present.
