At the January CONVENTUS team meeting, researcher María del Castillo García Romero was integrated into the project, linked to Line 3 of our study.
María del Castillo García holds an International PhD with distinction (cum laude) in Art History from the University of Seville (Spain), where she has been teaching in the same department since 2016 and is accredited as an Assistant Professor by the Spanish Research Agency (ANECA). Her main research focus is on art history from a gender perspective, specializing in the history of architecture, to which she has dedicated most of her work (publications, conferences), including her PhD thesis, which was evaluated by Professor Dr. Catarina Almeida Marado. She has collaborated with Professor Marado during various research stays at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences at the University of Algarve since 2019.
Professor Dr. María del Castillo also holds a degree in Humanities and a Master’s in Heritage from the University of Cádiz, as well as a Master’s in International Cultural Management and Social Innovation from the Complutense University of Madrid.
Her participation in our project will foster international synergies by focusing on the analysis of convent buildings whose historical trajectories share similarities with the Convent of Saint Joseph in Lagoa. This will allow us to identify new social and cultural practices that could form the basis for future networks of shared experiences, activities, and cooperation protocols, in collaboration with the rest of the team.
