Provision by Bishop D. Inácio de Santa Teresa, dated July 26, 1743, to establish the Recolhimento of São José in Lagoa and to admit the enclosed Sisters of the Most Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary. The intention was for the Recolhimento to be temporary, “until it can be converted into a Convent.”
